An emotional rollercoaster lies before us - do we jump off, to fates unknown, or do we strap ourselves safely in and wait for it? For what? We’re not sure. But an emotional storm is brewing.
It’s not in what happens to us, but in how we react that is important. When something chaotic disrupts your life, how do you respond? Do you rely on substance, or someone/thing to make you happy again? Do you create, and draw, color, paint, make music, have sex? Do you get into a depressive episode? How does your body react? Are you in pain? Do you numb? Are you even aware?
Take a look from the King of Cups point of view; waves crashing all around him. And yet he sits in stillness, contemplation. He lets life happen. He doesn’t respond. He waits. Perhaps impatiently, but we don’t know.
He grounds into the moment, the murky sand below his watery oasis, not sucking him under, but holding him up.
When we don’t succumb to the shit life throws at us, we remain open to experience it. And to process it. So, are you strapped into the rollercoaster? Or are you taking the plunge into the unknown?
Either way, ground yourself. Take tools of protection. Make sure you’re able to come back from this one. 🎢
