1 Card Pull: Two of Pentacles
Every time I get a new deck, I sit with it a while and focus on the question “what is our relationship going to be like” - because I like to know how to engage and interact with a deck I’m about to have a (hopefully) long relationship with.
The two of pentacles in this Manzel Bowman deck to me represented boundaries, respect, and balance. This deck is highly melanated, represented by somewhat modern-tribal imagery, very etheric and spacey, yet grounded and current. To me, I need to maintain a level of respect and honor when working with this deck - it truly won't be (and can’t be) for everyone.
But this deck also feels cozy and home, even if you’re out of place. It’s a balance of acknowledging nature and tradition while also holding on to modern luxuries and expenses. The panther represents both wild nature and a lux and lavish lifestyle. It’s duality - we are both: we can be both. Instinctual but wanting to be catered to.
Wild, but domestic.
Free, but trapped by the confines of our structured and systemic society. So play, and be free: but work hard, and get rest. ✨
I’ve wanted this deck for so long; thank you Manzel for re-releasing the holographic edition! 🌈
